Medcorps Asthma and Pulmonary Specialists: Patient Code of Conduct

At Medcorps Asthma and Pulmonary Specialists, we are dedicated to delivering high-quality healthcare and fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for everyone. We strive to ensure that our patients, staff, and visitors feel respected and cared for in all interactions within our practice.

To achieve this, we uphold a Patient Code of Conduct that prohibits words or actions that are disrespectful, discriminatory, hostile, or harassing. Examples of unacceptable behaviors include, but are not limited to:

  • Offensive Comments: Remarks about others’ race, accent, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or other personal characteristics.
  • Discrimination: Refusal to receive care from a clinician or staff member based on their personal traits.
  • Threats or Assaults: Physical or verbal threats or acts of violence.
  • Inappropriate Behavior: Sexual or vulgar language, gestures, or actions.
  • Disruptive Conduct: Interfering with another patient’s care or overall experience.

If we believe the Patient Code of Conduct has been violated through unwelcome words or actions, we will provide an opportunity for you to share your perspective. Your response will be thoughtfully considered before any decisions are made regarding your care. In rare cases, significant violations of the Code may result in requests for patients to seek care elsewhere. Non-emergency future care at Medcorps Asthma and Pulmonary Specialists may also require further review.

If you witness or experience any of these behaviors, we encourage you to report them to a member of your care team. Your feedback is essential in helping us maintain a respectful and inclusive environment for all.

Thank you for partnering with us in creating a positive and welcoming space for everyone.
